Are the TSA people really supposed to be acting as interstate customs agents? I thought they were just supposed to be security personnel. It seems like questioning on things like cash and drugs is taking time away from screening for the stuff you are supposed to be screening for. This is probably why the government isn't capable of handling [...]
What a horrible scale to use for this, might as well be likert. Also, Moot is #1... LOL 4chan FTW. (more…)
Apparently Bob Barr isn’t the only American libertarian politician to fall victim to Sacha Baron Cohen’s unique brand of comedy: Presidential candidates will do almost anything for publicity. But Ron Paul’s appearance in Sacha Baron Cohen’s upcoming Bruno movie suggests he draws the line at making sex tapes with gay Austrian TV [...]
I don't get it... where's the debate part? I just see Dr. Paul explaining in a rational way the merits of legalization and the stupidity of prohibition while Baldwin chimes in with tired, inaccurate anti-marijuana sound bites. I guess this "debate" is a microcosm of the whole issue.
Here’s video of Ron Paul’s speech at CPAC this afternoon. It seems like he got a much better reception this year than he did the last time he was there. (more…)
Ron's oldest son is considering a senate run. FRANKFORT, Ky. -- Yet another Republican is considering a run for U.S. Sen. Jim Bunning's seat. The latest is Rand Paul, son of U.S. Rep. and former Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul of Texas. He told The Associated Press on Thursday that he would consider entering the race, but only if [...]
by Rep Ron Paul This week the Federal Reserve responded to the American people's increased concerns over our monetary policy by presenting new initiatives aimed at enhancing the Fed's transparency and accountability. As someone who has called for more openness from the Fed for over 30 years, I was pleased to see the Fed acknowledge the [...]
He calls it business as usual. Ugh.
It's an economic crisis he largely predicted -- so what's former presidential candidate Rep. Ron Paul up to these days? He's thinking about the long-term. His Campaign for Liberty will start training activists at eight regional summits this year while it continues to urge followers to work against the stimulus and bailout measures in [...]
This is a great explanation of the current problems were facing.
Ron Paul was asked to respond to a particular passage in President Obama’s inaugural address, as it relates to our constitutional tradition, in which he states that “what the cynics fail to understand is that the ground has shifted beneath them - that the stale political arguments that have consumed us for so long no longer apply. The question [...]
Ron Paul is the "lighthouse of reason" on the shores of reality.
Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom in Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any band of regular troops that can be, on any pretence, raised in the United States. A [...]
Say what you want about Ron Paul and his legion of tech-savvy supporters, but they do make the Republican party a whole lot more interesting to watch. Case in point? As Politico's Ben Stein reports, Ron Paul supporters have recently flocked to a Digg-like webstie set up by the RNC and flooded it with questions for the debate between candidates for [...]
"It's a sad day for the whole world. We, the US, will be blamed for it. the real tragedy it will be an attack on our personal liberties" Rep. Ron Paul discusses the invasion of Gaza on January 3, 2009 and its implications for America. Hit play for more on the worsening financial crisis...
Ron Paul introduced HR 2755: Federal Reserve Abolition Act. There were no co-sponsors, no further action was taken, and the legislation was referred to the House Committee on Financial Services and effectively pigeonholed and ignored. It’s a bold and needed measure to “abolish the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System and the [...]
A true hero in a sinking ship. It is so sad that this once mighty republic is going out with a whimper. I'd like to think we can turn it around and I'll go down in a rain of fire defending it, but it doesn't look real good. He brings up some interesting points, but the one I found downright scary is the nationalization of industries, because it [...]
